Rochester staying in AHL

The Amerks announced the extension of their affiliation agreement with the Florida Panthers and a new lease deal, keeping the team in Rochester.
The Rochester Americans Hockey Club and Rochester Knighthawks Lacrosse Team announced today that they have each signed lease agreements with the City of Rochester to play at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial.

The Amerks of the American Hockey League also announced a three-year affiliation agreement with the National Hockey League’s Florida Panthers. The Amerks and Panthers have worked together since the 2005-06 season as part of a dual affiliation. The Amerks will enter their 53rd season of play at the downtown arena when they begin the 2008-09 AHL season in October.
